3 and 4 day classes, 30 hours total in classroom
(27 hours of theory, 9 hours of clinical) 27 CEU's for LVN's

Blood Withdrawal State Certification Class for LVN's/Refresher for RN, LVN, or MA
1-day class, 6-8 hours total in classroom (minimum 3 hours of theory, 3 hours of clinical) 6 CEU's for LVN's

 

These courses meet the requirements of section 2860.5 of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and is approved by the California Board of Vocational Nursing, (provider numbers I2230, IB2266

 

 


 

 


There is no California IV certification for RN's since IV therapy is considered a basic skill and is included in their RN curriculum. It therefore is not eligible for CEU's. RN's may take the class to refresh their skills or to gain knowledge and competency.

RN IV Techniques and Central Line Management (1-day class)
30 hours total. (24 hours of theory* 6 hours of clinical).* Some theory will be done through home-study.

RN IV Techniques and Central Line Management with Peripheral and Central line Blood Withdrawal Techniques (1 and 2 day classes)(12 hours of theory*, 4 hours of clinical for 1 day or 8 hours of clinical for 2 day class). * Some theory will be done through home-study.

 

California IV State Certification Class for CRT's (1-day class)
18 hours total (12 hours of theory* 6 hours of clinical).
* Some theory will be done through home-study.


  The course for Certified Radiologic Technologists meets California regulation #106985 for IV certification classes. Note: There is currently no California State Certificate for Radiologic, MRI, or CT technologists but a certificate is awarded from Nursing Transitions upon completion of this class.  
  California IV State Certification Class for EMT's (1-day class)
18 hours total (12 hours of theory* 6 hours of clinical).
* Some theory will be done through home-study.
  Note: There is currently no California State Certificate for Emergency Medical Technicians but a certificate is awarded from Nursing Transitions. Venipuntures must be done under the license of a physician and is dependant on the EMT's employer.
